Lawyers in Hand Arendall's Tax, Trust and Estate Planning Practice Group handle various federal, state, and local tax matters, including those involving corporate and individual income, estate, gift, excise, sales, gross receipts, and ad valorem taxes.

More specifically, they regularly assist clients with:


  • Contesting claims by the government for additional taxes and in planning purchases, sales, and mergers of businesses in order to minimize taxes.
  • Minimizing their estate taxes by a number of means, including securing valuation discounts and creating family limited partnerships and family limited liability companies.
  • Estate planning for estates of all sizes and levels of complexity.
  • Handling general probate matters, including estate administration, will contests, prenuptial agreements, revocable and irrevocable trusts, and employee benefit trusts.
  • Conservatorships, guardianships, and trustee duties.
  • Elder Law planning including Medicaid planning and applications, and powers of attorneys.


They have also formed and now represent a number of private and public tax-exempt foundations.
